RivFest is back to rock the Old Market Square in Warrington for the fifth time from August 6 – 8.
The up-and-coming festival announced its latest line-up today and, as ever, it boasts a host of household and hotly tipped names.
Created by the River Reeves Foundation back in 2016, following the tragic deaths of River, and his bandmates in Viola Beach as well as their manager, Craig Tarry.
This year’s event marks five years since the Viola Beach boys posthumously topped the UK Albums charts.
The festival provides a 3,000 strong capacity venue for new talent to hit a wider audience. While the foundation itself provides bands with a £500 bursary to help those from disadvantaged backgrounds realise their artistic ambitions.
The festival already has an impressive back-catalogue of previous performers including the likes of Billy Bragg, The K’s, and Maximo Park. But who’s on the bill for this year?
Legendary Hacienda DJ Graeme Park will kick things off in fine fashion on Friday night, before alt-rockers Everything Everything take to the stage on Saturday evening to treat everyone to huge tunes from their Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize nominated back-catalogue. Sunday evening sees up-and-coming grunge artist Abi Rose Kelly show why she’s made it on to the Glastonbury Emerging long list.
Alongside that power trio, the Warrington crowd will also be treated to acts like festival veterans Eliza & The Bear as well as The A.V. Club, Pizzagirl, Hadda Be, The Rills, All Night Dining, and late inclusion Beach Riot.
While the weather is never guaranteed at a Great British festival, you what is a guarantee? Great tunes! But how could the sun resist coming out with all those insane names on the bill?
Tickets for RivFest go live at 12pm on Friday 23rd April 2021.
